According to Nairobi Wire, P Unit could be headed for a split after two of it’s members announced imminent retirement.
Word on the street has it that Bon Eye and Frasha made the announcement during the industry night at Galileo lounge last week. The duo who make up two thirds of the group that brought a fresh taste to music of the Genge genre, announced that they were contemplating dropping out of the music industry to pursue solo interests and businesses.
Their last release was L.O.V.E that didn’t quite live up to their standards and it appears the group might be facing the inevitable crossroads that almost every other musical group faces.
If true, this won’t be a first in Kenya. Camp Mulla members parted ways to pursue solo projects and Sauti Sol had been rumored to be headed down the same road but they have been going strong.
For now only time will tell.
