Media personality and events promoter, Omulangira Ndausi spent Monday night in the cells after being arrested for extortion.

This followed rumors that had been going around extorting millions of money from different Ugandans, promising them jobs abroad.

Ndausi was nabbed by Police after different phone calls which were masterminded by NTV news anchor Andrew Kyamagero.

"Andrew played the biggest part in his arrest. He received phone calls, promising him a good gig and that's how he arrived at his arresting point," a source that preferred anonymity told this website.

Kyamagero later in the day broke the news of his detention.

"Today, I spent my whole day at Kiira Road station and later Jinja Road Police station with victims. And I want to thank the Police for handling this case with the attention it deserved. 'Webuzibidde nga Ndausi ali munda. Wrong is wrong and must be rebuked," he wrote.

Ndausi promised to clear the money before the end of this week.
