Musician and turned politician, Bobi Wine, also President of the National Unity Platform, has spoken out on the nullification of Elias Luyimbazi Nalukoola's election as the Member of Parliament representing Kawempe North constituency.

Addressing the press in Gulu City, where he had a meeting with party members, Bobi Wine revealed they will seek remedies in the Court of Appeal following the nullification. He explained that if the appeal fails, they will go to the polls in the Kawempe by-election.

He says they will beat NRM and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, just like it was in March this year.

"The court's ruling was influenced by Museveni himself. We are going to appeal the matter in the next court, and if it does the same, we are ready to go to the polls in Kawempe North. We shall defeat Museveni even harder than before because we are going for a protest vote in a few months," he explained.

Bobi Wine's comments come hours after the High Court ruled in favor of petitioner Nambi Farida Kigongo. The court ruled that the by-election held in March 2025 failed to comply with the Parliamentary Elections Act.

Justice Bernard Namanya noted that the irregularities significantly affected the outcome of the vote, prompting the annulment of Luyimbazi’s election.
