Musician Ibrahim Mayanja, also known as Big Eye, officially picked his nomination forms to contest for the NUP ticket as the Nansana Municipality MP.
The singer explained he has already done his groundwork in the constituency. He is expecting to win the ticket because he has support among the constituents.
Big Eye says despite competition from opponents, he is assured of winning the party ticket with a 90% chance.
"I have the support among the people and am assured of winning the party ticket with 90%. The 10% is for my opponents because in an election you can't win 100%," he explained in an interview with a local television station.
Big Eye, however, faces stiff competition from media personality Zambali Bulasio Mukasa, incumbent Wakayima Musoke, and others who have already expressed interest in the position.
Big Eye joins musicians Nina Roz and Nubian Li, who have already picked nomination forms from the party's elections management committee to contest in different areas.
Nina Roz is contesting for the Sembabule Woman MP position, and Nubian Li is vying for the Nakawa Mayoral division.
