Earlier this year, senior politician Ali Mulyanyama announced his bid for the Makindye West MP division.
He began his campaigns in Makindye West and has been battling for the party ticket with the incumbent, Allan Sewanyana, and Musiri David.
However, reports have emerged revealing that Mulyanyama has now turned his focus to Makindye East. He will be contesting for the NUP party ticket alongside Tuff B.
It is alleged that after Nyeko Derrick announced he would not be vying for the position in the coming elections, the party leadership reached out to Ali Mulyanyama and convinced him to take up the position.
He was reportedly promised a safe landing in the division, and the party is ready to hand over the ticket to him to vie for the position in the upcoming elections.
His move from Makindye West to East has now made Musiri David a favorite to receive the NUP ticket, as the incumbent, Allan Sewanyana, is not on good terms with the party leadership.
However, we are waiting for Ali Mulyanyama to officially confirm his bid for Makindye East. Reports indicate he will do so this week when he addresses journalists at the party headquarters.
