South Africa-based Ugandan socialite and businesswoman Zari Hassan has delivered a strong message to women, urging them to avoid having children when they are not financially secure.

In her bold statement, Zari cautioned women against giving birth purely out of love or emotional attachment, stressing that love alone cannot sustain a family in today’s world.

“You need to be financially stable so that if this guy walks out, you’ve got your things together. Many women out here are suffering and have been thrown into deep holes they can’t get out of because they loved the man too much,” Zari said.

She went on to highlight the dangers of relationships built only on affection and sexual attraction, explaining that they often collapse and leave women struggling to fend for themselves and their children.

“Sexual pleasure and love alone don’t build a future. If there’s no money, there shouldn’t be a reason to have kids. And if you can’t afford to raise a child on your own, don’t have one,” she added.

Zari, who is a mother of five, has often spoken about financial independence and women’s empowerment. Her latest remarks have stirred debate online, with some praising her for promoting self-reliance, while others accused her of being too materialistic about relationships and family.
