Veteran Kadongo Kamu singer Mathias Walukaaga, who was recently nominated to contest for Busiro East MP, has dismissed the petition challenging his academic qualifications, describing it as a lost battle.

Walukaaga’s nomination is being challenged before the Electoral Commission tribunal, reportedly pushed by incumbent MP Medard Lubega Segona, who insists the singer is not academically qualified to run.

However, Walukaaga maintains he meets all academic requirements and insists his documents were fully verified by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).

“He is really fighting a lost battle because I am qualified for the position and my documents were verified by the National Council for Higher Education. He is wasting time in the tribunal and he is going to lose terribly,” Walukaaga said.

Walukaaga revealed he has secured a strong legal team to defend him, including top lawyers Caleb Alaka, Alex Luganda and Elias Nalukoola Luyimbazi.

The musician says he is fully focused on his political journey and confident justice will prevail.
