Earlier this week, singer Ava Peace publicly challenged Sheebah Karungi to a music battle during an interview with UBC’s Calvin the Entertainer. The announcement immediately stirred controversy across social media, with Sheebaholics questioning Ava’s intentions and accusing her of chasing clout.
However, Ava Peace has now come forward to clarify her motive, stating that her request was not meant as disrespect, but rather a strategic business decision.
She revealed that a battle with the former Team No Sleep (TNS) star would be aimed at financial gain, benefiting both artists if Sheebah agreed to the idea.
“I don’t intend to disrespect Sheebah, but I chose to call for a battle for financial benefit. I would only engage if she accepts the idea because it’s something that can make us money as musicians,” Ava Peace explained.
She emphasized that she holds deep respect for Sheebah Karungi and appreciates her massive contribution to the music industry, as well as the inspiration she provides to millions of young girls across Uganda.
Ava Peace says she still hopes the battle can happen — but only if Sheebah chooses to take it on.
