After weeks of silence, musician-turned-politician Mathias Walukaaga has finally broken cover — and he’s making his next move loud and clear.

Walukaaga, who was recently disqualified from the Busiro East MP race for failing to meet the minimum academic requirements, has now officially thrown his weight behind Emmanuel Magoola.

The development comes nearly a month after his nomination was rejected, a decision that shook both his supporters and the wider political scene in Wakiso District.

Speaking out, Walukaaga praised Magoola as a strong candidate capable of delivering victory for the National Unity Platform (NUP) — even though he is contesting as an independent.

“I have decided to endorse Emmanuel Magoola for the position. He is capable of securing a win for the party. He is a fellow member of NUP, and his win is our win. This endorsement comes from me, but straight from my party,” Walukaaga declared.

The endorsement carries extra weight considering that Magoola lost the NUP ticket to Walukaaga during the party primaries — a twist that now adds fresh drama to the Busiro East race.

Magoola now faces a tough battle against incumbent Medard Segona and NRM’s Hajji Kiyimba as the constituency braces for one of its most competitive showdowns.
