For nearly two months, Bebe Cool and Eddy Kenzo have dominated headlines with nonstop verbal attacks, each accusing the other of disrespect — and fans have been eating up the drama.

But according to fellow musician Big Eye, the so-called beef is nothing but a well-scripted distraction.

Big Eye says the two stars are actually good friends and their public clashes are a calculated move to divert media attention from opposition leader Bobi Wine and the National Unity Platform as the country heads deeper into election season.

“Those two are not beefing. They are good friends and they are just diverting the media from serious issues. They want to keep attention away from Bobi Wine as we approach elections. There is nothing between them,” Big Eye revealed in an interview with a local television station.

He went further, claiming that after firing shots at each other in public, Bebe Cool and Kenzo sit down privately almost every day to plan their next moves.
