World football governing body FIFA has imposed worldwide bans on three Ugandan football figures over match-fixing.

The affected individuals include former Uganda Cranes player Mike Mutyaba, Express FC goalkeeper Emmanuel Kalyowa, and former club CEO Miiro Ashraf Mwanje.

According to the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), the sanctions were issued by FIFA’s Disciplinary Committee following investigations into match manipulation linked to a 2024 Uganda Premier League fixture.

The bans, which took effect on March 12, 2026, prohibit the trio from participating in all football-related activities worldwide.

FUFA emphasized that the punishment applies both locally and internationally, effectively ending their involvement in professional football for the duration of the sanctions.
