A Kyambogo University student has been found dead in her hostel room in Banda, Kampala, with authorities investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.
The student has been identified by the university as Precious Musimenta, a Bachelor’s degree student of Accounting and Finance attached to North Hall.
In a communication dated September 28, 2026, the university’s Office of the Dean of Students confirmed that Musimenta was found dead in her room at Sports Pro Hostel in Banda on Monday.
“The late was found dead in her room at Sports Pro Hostel in Banda today, Monday, 28th September 2026. The body has been taken to City Mortuary for further investigations, where a post mortem report on the cause of her death will be provided,” the statement partly read.
The university did not disclose the circumstances surrounding her death.
As of the time of the communication, police had not announced the cause of death. A post-mortem examination is expected to establish the circumstances and cause of her death as investigations continue.
