Musician Kapa Cat has expressed doubts about veteran singer Kid Fox’s chances of making a successful comeback in Uganda’s current music scene.
Speaking in an interview with a local television station, Kapa Cat said the music industry has changed significantly since Kid Fox enjoyed his biggest successes, making it difficult for him to immediately connect with younger audiences.
“Kid Fox will not impress Gen Z at the moment. He has to do more to impress the young ones at the moment. He did it back then, but I doubt he can make a comeback in Uganda today. He should try, but I don't think he will make it,” she said.
Kapa Cat acknowledged Kid Fox’s contribution during his prime but argued that he would need to put in extra effort to win over today’s younger listeners.
She also noted that the veteran singer would have to compete with artistes who currently have a strong presence in Uganda’s music industry.
Meanwhile, Kapa Cat said she is taking things slowly with her own career and is not under pressure to release new music.
The artiste said she remains relaxed and is comfortable moving at her own pace rather than rushing to put out new material.
