Police in Entebbe have arrested three suspects on allegations of robbery and recovered a gun.
According to SSP Patrick Onyango the PRO KMP, police received intelligence about a planned robbery of a gun from the security guards of GKO Security Group guarding National Water offices at Abaita Babiri zone, Katabi Parish in Entebbe Division, Wakiso District on Wednesday 19/10/2022.
Onyango says that the plan was being hatched by three robbers identified as, Onen Can Peter, Lukori Samuel, and Orio Calvin.
Intelligence revealed that the three thugs had been regularly approaching the informant who is a security guard of GKO for about a week convincing him that there is a hot deal that would make him a lot of money.
The gang then made plans to set the gun, only to be arrested after grabbing it.
“A team of Intelligence together with Operations acted immediately and Covert deployment was made to counter the robbers, and at around 0300hrs, they came and robbed the said gun. However, they were all arrested and the gun was recovered from them,” says Onyango.
He urged private security guards to always share information with the police in case they are approached by criminals convincing them to participate in any criminal activities.
