Over the weekend, Nigerian artist Omar Lay performed at a sold out concert at Ddungu beach in Munyonyo.

On Sunday morning, photos from the show went viral on internet and it is evident revellers were not following any SOPs. A number of local musicians and fans took to social media to condemn authorities for letting a foreigner perform in the country yet Ugandan artistes haven't performed since March.

Because of this, Police has arrested the Nigerian singer Oma Lay and the manager of the venue. They are currently held at Katwe Police Station.

This was confirmed by KMP Deputy Spokesperson Afande Luke Oweyesigire. “Nigerian Artist Omah lay has been arrested by Katwe police, the manager  of the venue one Dungu Ivan  and the Events manager Prim Kasana  are also in custody .

More details to follow,” he tweeted
