Ugandan entertainers make a lot of cash from music concerts and shows in December. They always expect to make a killing during Christmas and at the end of the year, but the industry is still closed.
Media critic Frank Gashumba suggested in an interview that the government should give entertainers a grant of 5m to help them meet their needs this Christmas period.
"Instead of the Janzi Awards, the government should just give 5m grant to every entertainer. The awards add nothing to the bank accounts of entertainers, it's only the four organizers who have gained from the fake awards," he partly explained in a video that was posted on Bafana's Instagram account.
Gashumba castigated the Janzi Awards organizers for wasting the taxpayer's money in organizing awards that don't help the music industry.
