Musician Jose Chameleone is a member of the Uganda National Musician Federation( UNMF) led by Eddy Kenzo. He has however not been actively participating in its ongoing meetings.
Chameleone elaborated that the federation has good intentions but this shouldn't limit anyone else who is fighting for copyright on a different frontline.
He explained this fight cant be achieved by one entity. It needs everyone concerned to take an interest in the copyright law to pass on the floor of the parliament.
"I think the federation is on the right track but we all need to take an interest in it. Everyone should be allowed to demand for the copyright law to pass, it shouldn't be limited to the federation," he said in a video shared online.
Chameleone also advised musicians to unite if they hope to achieve their goals.
