Musician Dax Vibez earlier this year announced a concert at Hotel Africana on August 29th.
Just last week, the President of the Uganda Musicians Association, Cindy, also confirmed having a concert on the same date at Millennium Park in Lugogo.
The two artists' concerts clashing on the same date has since raised controversy among fans and lovers of Ugandan music.
Speaking about the matter, the President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation, also a presidential advisor on creatives, Eddy Kenzo, says we are in a free economy and a competitive business.
He explained that as the President of musicians, he has no power to stop or limit anyone from staging a concert on their chosen date.
Eddy Kenzo, however, says Kampala is full of fans and lovers of Ugandan music; everyone should just go out of their comfort zone and convince them to come to their show.
"It's a competitive business and world. You can't limit anyone; there are numbers in Kampala, and whoever wants people to come to his show should convince people to support him," he explained in an interview with a local television station.
Eddy Kenzo, however, says he wishes both artists success and encouraged Ugandans to go out and support them on that day.
