Catherine Kusasira has been a vocal member of the ruling government for almost ten years now.

When artistes joined their own Bobi Wine in opposition politics, she and a few others remained loyal to the NRM and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

She was eventually appointed a presidential advisor on Kampala matters and Ghetto residences. Kusasira has, however, decried disrespect from a section of NRM leaders.

The singer even threatened to quit the party, claiming she works tirelessly for the good of the NRM but is only appreciated by the President and a select few.

She believes her contribution ought to be appreciated by everyone, including the security personnel who frequently stop her from meeting the President.

"I am tired of the disrespect from some people in NRM. How could you dare stop me from meeting with General Nalweyiso? I have done great things for NRM, but it's only the President who acknowledges them. At times, I even think about quitting the party and concentrating on other things," she explained.

Catherine Kusasira, who earlier declared aspirations to contest for the Buikwe Woman MP position, seems to have lost interest in the seat. She is currently concentrating on promoting the party.
