There is a looming battle between promoters and a section of artists, particularly those who belong to the Uganda National Musicians Federation.

Promoters accuse artists, under the leadership of Eddy Kenzo, of sidelining them after receiving billions of shillings from the government.

Promoters even threatened to ban a section of artists, claiming they will not be staging their events going forward. They specifically singled out the "Big Talent" boss.

Carol Nantongo has weighed in on the ongoing dispute between the two groups and also shared her thoughts about the proposed ban on Kenzo.

Nantogo explained that artists can live without promoters because they can personally stage their own events and concerts.

She says this has been witnessed before, and going forward, a number of artists will be doing so because it is even more rewarding if the event succeeds.

"Artists have staged their own events before, especially those with money, and going forward, we will have no choice but to do so. Artists can live without promoters as long as the money is there; nothing fails. We will stage our own events," she explained.

Nantongo also mentioned artists who have staged their own concerts before, including Mesach Semakula, Eddy Kenzo, and Bebe Cool, among others.

She believes they can coexist harmoniously with promoters, but there is no harm if an artist chooses to do it their own way.
