The country is buzzing with the election season, which already kicked off months ago as they prepare for the January elections.

Different people have already expressed interest in various positions, and they are doing everything possible to gain the support of the electorate.

The National Unity Platform, the biggest opposition party in the country, is planning to unveil its parliamentary candidates this month after announcing vetting will take place starting on the 15th of September.

The Uganda Law Society President, Isaac Ssemakadde, has come forward and endorsed David Musiri for the position of Makindye West.

Ssemakadde explained that Musiri should be trusted for the position because he is a capable and already tested leader who has previously confronted bad leadership.

"Makindye West deserves better than regime apologists and recycled failures. Enter David Musiri, young, fearless, unbought, unbossed. A true son of the ghetto ready to confront the vampires of impunity that have turned Parliament into a bazaar of greed and mediocrity," he wrote.

David Musiri is facing competition from the incumbent, Allan Sewanyana, and the current Makindye Division Mayor, Ali Mulyanyama.

However, reports indicate he is the favorite to receive the party flag because he is strong on the ground.
