Veteran emcee MC Kats has launched a scathing critique against "yellow brigade officials" after being denied access to a crucial government meeting about a large payout for entertainers. Kats was summoned for a 10 am meeting with an official regarding a reported Shs1.5 billion allocation, supposedly meant for MCs.
To his shock, after arriving hours early and waiting for two hours, he was blocked from entry for having "no appointment."
“I left home at 5 am for this meeting... Now 1.5 billion is taken by your people, not us who work for it,” a visibly frustrated Kats fumed.
The 40-year-old star, who has over two decades in the industry, accused the government of sidelining hardworking entertainers in favor of politically connected individuals. "You guys have just gotten jobs recently through technical know-who," he said bitterly, contrasting himself with those allegedly benefiting.
The controversy surrounds a payout reportedly earmarked for political talk show hosts. In a surprising move, Kats invoked opposition leader Bobi Wine, saying, “That’s where Bobi Wine wins. He may not give money, but he gives hope.”
Kats, who insisted his fight is for fairness for struggling MCs, appealed directly to Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba to ensure MCs in Central region and Mbarara benefit from such funds. His outburst has since sparked mixed reactions online, with some sympathizing while others accuse him of chasing relevance
