Celebrated Ugandan singer Cinderella Sanyu, popularly known as Cindy, has shared words of wisdom for the new generation of artistes trying to make it in the competitive music industry.
Having dominated the scene for over fifteen years, Cindy remains one of the most complete and respected performers in Uganda and East Africa.
Speaking in a recent interview, she urged upcoming artistes to focus on consistency, hard work, and producing quality music, emphasizing that success is not about connections or favoritism.
“Young artistes should stop thinking that there is someone blocking you. There is no formula to making it in this industry—just pick your lane and move. Keep releasing good music and you will be booked,” Cindy advised.
She further dismissed claims that senior artistes stand in the way of the younger generation, explaining that the industry has enough space for everyone who is willing to work smart and stay committed.
Cindy, who also serves as the President of the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA), stressed the importance of unity and collaboration among artistes, saying it is the key to personal growth and the overall development of the Ugandan music industry.
