Media personality and former Bukedde TV host Flavia Namulidwa has spoken out for the first time about her decision not to run as an independent candidate after losing the National Unity Platform (NUP) flag for Gomba East Constituency to Godfrey Saazi.
In an interview with a local YouTuber, Namulidwa emphasized that politics is not a do-or-die affair for her. She revealed that she has several projects and commitments outside politics that continue to keep her fulfilled and productive.
“I am working already; I have a lot of things on my plate. It’s not a do-or-die for me, and I am focused on my other works at the moment. The main thing for me is supporting the President to unseat the dictatorial regime, and I will put emphasis on that,” Namulidwa explained.
Despite losing the party ticket, Namulidwa affirmed her continued loyalty to NUP and its leadership under Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine). She vowed to rally support for all NUP candidates in Gomba District, saying the struggle for change is bigger than individual ambitions.
Namulidwa remains one of the few media personalities who transitioned into active politics, earning respect for her humility and dedication to the opposition cause even after the primaries setback.
