Veteran media personality Edwin Katamba, popularly known as MC Kats, has officially resigned from NBS Television, choosing to start the new year as a full-time YouTuber.

MC Kats, who has been part of the Naguru-based station for the last seven years, will no longer host NBS After 5 in 2026 as he shifts focus to building his personal digital media brand.

Sources indicate that Kats tendered in his resignation in November 2025, marking the end of a long and decorated television career that spans more than two decades.

Before joining NBS TV in 2018, MC Kats worked with the now-defunct WBS Television, and later at NTV Uganda, where he hosted the popular “NTV Xposed” show. At NBS, he became one of the faces of After 5, co-hosting alongside Douglas Lwanga, Viana Indi, DJ Roja and Mercy Pro.

His upcoming YouTube channel will focus on music, entertainment news, industry discussions and behind-the-scenes conversations shaping Uganda’s music business.

With this bold move, MC Kats joins a growing list of media personalities embracing digital platforms as the future of entertainment journalism.

The TV legend has left the screen — and entered the streaming era.
