Media personality Shafiq Kayima has officially announced his departure from television to concentrate fully on radio.
The longtime host signed off on Friday night during the Koona programme, revealing it was his final appearance on TV. Shafiq Kayima, who has spent nearly two decades in the media industry, explained that radio is where he feels most comfortable and effective.
“Today is my last day on TV. I have been here a long time, but I feel I understand radio better, and I will spend most of my time at Dembe FM,” Shafiq Kayima revealed.
Shafiq Kayima rose to prominence through the “Twezimbe” morning show on Twezimbe, which he co-hosted alongside Kasuku and Ruth Kalibaala on Spark Television.
At the time of his exit, he had been hosting the Koona Programme, marking the end of a significant chapter in his television career as he transitions fully into radio broadcasting.
