The Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, has said he has no issue with musicians performing in skimpy outfits while on stage.

Mayiga, who has consistently shown support for Uganda’s music industry by attending concerts and endorsing events, made the remarks while speaking about stage performance and dress code among artists.

According to the Katikkiro, performers should be allowed freedom in their stage presentation because it is part of their work and entertainment brand. However, he advised artists to dress responsibly away from performances.

“I have no problem with musicians who wear skimpy attires while performing on stage. It is part of their work and it is okay, but after the stage, they should dress responsibly,” he partly explained.

Mayiga made the comments while endorsing Karole Kasita’s upcoming concert scheduled to take place later this month.
