Singer Sasha Brighton has publicly apologised to veteran musician Irene Namatovu for leaving the New Eagles music group, saying she felt she had disappointed someone who believed in her talent.
Speaking in a media interview, Sasha Brighton revealed that she recently went on her knees to apologise to Namatovu as a sign of remorse for the way she exited the group.
According to the singer, Irene Namatovu played a significant role in shaping her early music career by supporting her after she failed auditions that she had hoped would launch her career.
"Irene Namatovu believed in me when I lost the auditions and supported me because she saw my potential. When I later left New Eagles, I felt I had disappointed her, so I apologised," she said.
Sasha Brighton acknowledged that leaving the group without fulfilling the expectations of her mentor had weighed heavily on her, prompting her to seek forgiveness.
Her public apology has been welcomed by many fans, who have praised her humility and willingness to acknowledge the support Irene Namatovu gave her during the early stages of her music journey.
