Swangz Avenue singer Vinka has revealed that her partner, Nelly Witta, was initially against her decision to pursue a music career.
Speaking during an interview with a local television station, Vinka explained that she met Nelly while she was still working in artist management before transitioning into music.
The singer disclosed that Nelly was among the first people outside her record label to learn about her plans to become a musician, but he was not supportive of the idea at the time.
"At that time we were just friends, although we liked each other. I think we started dating after my first three songs, but he didn't like the idea of me becoming a singer," she revealed.
Vinka explained that Nelly's concerns were not about her becoming famous, but rather about the lifestyle and reputation often associated with the music industry.
"He wasn't afraid of me becoming a star. He was just worried about the perception of musicians and the things people say they do," she explained.
Despite his initial hesitation, Vinka said Nelly stood by her as her career progressed, praising him for his patience and unwavering support throughout her journey in the music industry.
