Events promoter Abitex has taken a swipe at singer Irene Namatovu’s stage presentation, admitting that her recent concert at Serena Hotel left him disappointed despite the impressive turnout.

While the show attracted a strong crowd and was generally considered a success, Abitex says Namatovu's choice of outfits failed to complement the music and overall presentation.

Speaking about the concert, the promoter did not mince his words as he criticised the singer's dressing.

“Irene Namatovu never impressed in terms of dressing. I was disappointed in her, it was really a disappointing night on my side. Her clothes didn't match the music,” he partly said.

Abitex Questions Namatovu’s Stage Image

According to Abitex, attracting a large audience is only part of putting together a successful concert, arguing that an artiste's appearance and stage presentation also contribute to the overall experience.

His remarks have since sparked mixed reactions among fans, particularly because Namatovu's concert managed to draw a sizeable crowd.

While the promoter acknowledged the strong attendance, he believes the singer could have done more to match her visual presentation with the mood and identity of her music.
