Singer Maro has revealed that a popular Ugandan rapper once turned down his request to feature on the remix of his hit song “Anjagala.”

Speaking during an interview on Record FM, Maro disclosed that he approached the unnamed rapper when the original version of the song was performing strongly on the airwaves.

According to Maro, he personally reached out to the rapper, explained his plans for the remix and asked him to consider joining the project.

The rapper reportedly asked Maro to send him the song, but never followed up after receiving it.

“I reached out to him, explained myself and my intentions. He then asked me to send him the song and that's the last time we ever talked,” Maro partly narrated.

Maro chose not to reveal the identity of the rapper, instead moving on with plans for the remix.

He eventually brought rapper Fefe Bussi on board, with the two artistes releasing a new version of “Anjagala.”

The collaboration went on to perform strongly, giving the song renewed attention and helping extend its popularity among music fans.

Maro's revelation has now left fans wondering which Ugandan rapper initially passed on the opportunity to collaborate on what would become one of the song's notable follow-ups.
