Nigerian singer Fave has criticised a Ugandan promoter over what she describes as poor treatment during her recent visit to the country for a performance.
Fave made the remarks on X while responding to a Ugandan user who recognised the outfit she wore during her performance at Thrones on September 2.
The user commented on photos Fave had shared alongside the Ugandan flag, writing, “This is the night you performed for us at Thrones as if we had forced you. I recognise that outfit.”
In response, Fave expressed frustration with the promoter who handled her Uganda booking, claiming she was paid less than she was worth and poorly treated during her stay.
“It’s people like you and that silly promoter that make it hard for people to have nice things to say about Uganda. Brought me to your country for so much less than I’m worth and still treated me like shit. But I ignored because of my love for Uganda,” she wrote.
Fave had travelled to Uganda earlier this month for the performance, which was held at Thrones on September 2.
However, events promoter African Simba, who was involved in the booking, has denied Fave’s claims.
African Simba maintained that the singer was treated well throughout her stay and was paid according to the agreement reached before the performance.
The exchange has since sparked debate online over the treatment of international artistes brought to Uganda, with both sides presenting different accounts of what happened behind the scenes.
