Former Vision Group CEO Robert Kabushenga has praised socialite Shanitah Namuyimbwa, popularly known as Bad Black, describing her as one of Uganda’s most authentic and enduring personalities in the digital media space.

Speaking in a television interview, Kabushenga said Bad Black’s willingness to speak freely and remain true to her personality has helped her connect with ordinary Ugandans.

“I think she is one of the most authentic and enduring Ugandans on social media, in the digital media world,” he said.

Kabushenga also pointed to Bad Black’s involvement in a COVID-19 awareness campaign targeting sex workers as an example of her effectiveness as a communicator.

“When she did the COVID advert for sex workers, you couldn’t have found a better person,” he said.

According to Kabushenga, authenticity remains an important asset for brands and communicators seeking to connect with everyday audiences.

He argued that overlooking personalities such as Bad Black could make it harder for brands to effectively reach the audiences they are targeting.
