Singer Naava Grey has opened up about unusual childhood experiences involving her grandfather, whom she says was believed to possess mysterious supernatural powers.
Recalling her childhood, Naava said her grandfather often left family members amazed by what appeared to be unexplained abilities, including seemingly travelling from one place to another faster than expected.
One of her most memorable experiences happened during a family trip to Mbale. She recalled that her grandfather would remain behind taking tea and tell the family that he would arrive in Mbale before them.
“Those days when there were no vehicles, I am not even certain what people used to travel with, but what I recall is that we would find him taking tea. He would tell us that he would reach Mbale before us, and we would leave him behind taking tea. When you reached there, you would find him taking tea again,” she said.
Naava also shared a striking story about snakes, claiming that her grandfather could summon snakes whenever one allegedly bit someone at their home.
“If a snake happened to bite someone at home, he would call all of them, and they would gather. Then he would ask them who had bitten one of the children at home and ask it to separate from the rest. It would step aside from the others, then they would kill it, and the rest would return to where they had come from,” she said.
She further claimed that her grandfather could command trees to bend whenever he wanted to pick fruit.
“If he wanted a fruit from a tree, he would just tell the tree to bow a bit, and he would pick the fruit,” she added.
Naava’s childhood recollections have since sparked curiosity, with the stories offering a glimpse into the unusual beliefs and experiences she encountered while growing up.
The accounts, however, remain personal recollections and claims of supernatural events rather than independently verified evidence of such abilities.
