Musician King Saha has challenged fellow artiste Bebe Cool to include his music on the singer’s annual list, insisting that his hit song “Wewe” deserves recognition as one of the year’s biggest songs.
The two artistes have been at odds for more than five years, frequently clashing over their views on Uganda’s music industry and other issues.
With the year drawing to a close, King Saha has turned his attention to Bebe Cool’s anticipated annual music list, saying his work over the past months should earn him several spots.
In a video shared on TikTok, King Saha argued that “Wewe” had performed strongly enough to be considered the song of the year. He added that several of his other releases also deserved recognition.
“I have the song of the year with ‘Wewe’. It is the biggest song this year. I now want to see how it doesn't get a spot on Bebe Cool's list. I must feature on that list with over five songs. You have been speaking all the time; now I want to see your honesty,” King Saha said.
His challenge puts the focus on Bebe Cool’s annual selections, which often generate debate among artistes and music fans over which songs and performers deserve recognition.
Whether King Saha’s songs will feature on the list remains to be seen, but his remarks have added another twist to the long-running disagreement between the two musicians.
