Veteran band musician Mesach Semakula has urged young people to love, support and appreciate their parents, saying that caring for them can bring blessings and contribute to long-term success.
The singer encouraged people to share their blessings with their parents, arguing that making them happy and receiving their prayers is an important part of building a good life.
“The first witchcraft, let me call it that because that’s what people say when you become rich, that you use witchcraft, the first thing you have to do is to make your parents happy. Every time you pamper your mother, and she prays blessings on you, or you gift your father something, that’s the first way to unlock a good life,” he said.
Mesach explained that people should not wait until they become wealthy to start supporting their parents. Instead, he encouraged them to show appreciation through the resources they have, regardless of how much they earn.
The veteran musician also noted that honouring parents should not end after their death.
He shared how he continues to remember and honour his late father through a family gathering held towards the end of every year, emphasising the importance of keeping family bonds and memories alive.
His message centres on the value of gratitude, generosity and maintaining a strong relationship with parents as part of building a meaningful life.
