Musician Priscilla Zawedde, also known as Azawi, has spent almost two years criticizing the government and calling it out over injustices.
The singer, however, wants to do more than just talk. She intends to deliver her messages through music.
In an interview with a local television station, Azawi explained that she is planning to release revolutionary songs and will very soon be hitting studios to record them.
Azawi clarified that she wants to amplify the people's pain through her music and is not afraid of her bosses at Swangz Avenue.
"I am working on it, and the label respects my views and opinions," she explained. "I want to amplify the pain of many Ugandans through these songs. I will release the songs because it's what I can do."
Azawi added that she is ready to end her relationship with Swangz Avenue if need be in order to release the songs.
"It's up to them as a record label, but personally, I will do so," she added. "If they don't want to work with me because of the songs, it's okay; I will part ways with them."
