For over twenty years, the Ugandan music industry has been dominated by artists from the Central Region of Uganda. This has been primarily due to the Luganda language, which is spoken by the largest portion of the country's population.
However, things are evolving rapidly, and the Western Region of Uganda is embracing music as a business.
Several artists are emerging from the region and are ready for the biggest stage. Among them are Ray G, TPaul, Truths 256, and Omega 256, to name a few.
They are not holding back. They are working day and night for the good of their careers, to the extent that they are all planning to stage concerts in Kampala, following Ray G's successful event at Lugogo Cricket Oval last year.
Speaking about this, TPaul explained that they are offering something unique and original to fans of Ugandan music. They are providing an original sound, and it resonates with people because it's truly distinctive.
"In the market, you have to come with something unique. To go global, we as Ugandans need to find our niche. I encourage everyone to pay attention to Western Uganda — we’re working on creating something truly unique," he explained.
TPaul added that they are not only looking at Uganda but are also focused on reaching across borders in the region.
It should be noted that TPaul will be staging his maiden concert in Kampala on August 22nd of this year at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
