Tracy Melon is arguably the next big thing in the Ugandan music industry. Her demeanor, vocals, and character have won her massive support among lovers of Ugandan music.
With songs like "Ogenda Kukilaba," "Kakana," and the latest release, "Tovayo," Melon has won the hearts of many, including those who doubted her before.
The singer now says her musical progress has been a result of the support she received from her parents as soon as she started her music journey.
Unlike many musicians who have been challenged by their parents to quit music, Tracy Melon was supported, even though they were afraid at first.
She explained they were afraid because of the dangerous music industry but stood with her from day one.
"I got the support I needed from my parents as I started my music journey. They were afraid, but I was heard and wholeheartedly supported," she explained in an interview with a local television station.
Tracy Melon grew up with aspirations of being a music star and was inspired by Juliana Kanyomozi and Irene Namubiru.
Tracy Melon started music in 2021 through a music competition where she came in first place. In 2023, she released an EP which did not meet the expectations of many.
She went back to the studio, and in 2024, she released a few songs. This year, she released her platinum single "Ogenda Kukilaba."
