Uganda’s most decorated musician Edirisa Musuuza, popularly known as Eddy Kenzo, has been nominated for the 2026 Grammy Awards, marking another huge milestone in his global music journey.

The Presidential Advisor and President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) received a nod in the Best African Music Performance category for his inspirational collaboration with Mehran Matin titled “Hope and Love.”

Sharing his excitement on social media, Kenzo thanked the Recording Academy and appreciated everyone who continues to support Ugandan music.

“A special thanks to the @RecordingAcad voting members. It’s another nomination and a milestone in our music history as Uganda. To my brother @MehranMatin7 — you’re a star, congratulations,” Kenzo wrote on his X handle.

Kenzo will be battling it out with some of Africa’s biggest stars, including Burna Boy (Love), Davido ft. Omah Lay (With You), Wizkid ft. Ayra Starr (Gimme Dat), and South Africa’s Tyla (Push 2 Start).

The Grammy Awards will take place on February 1, 2026, celebrating the world’s top musical acts.

This becomes Kenzo’s second Grammy nomination, following his first in 2024 for “Gimme Love” with Matt B.

Fans across Uganda have since flooded social media with congratulatory messages, hoping this time he brings the golden trophy home.
