Singer Gloria Bugie has revealed that she has not shelved plans to stage her first-ever concert, explaining that the event was only postponed because her preferred venue, Mandela National Stadium, Namboole, is currently unavailable.
Speaking during an interview with a local television station, Bugie said she had hoped to hold the concert at Namboole but was informed that the stadium remains booked due to preparations and activities related to the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
"I was told Namboole is still booked for AFCON, so we are still looking for the biggest venue in Kampala," Bugie explained.
The singer said the concert is still very much in the pipeline and that she is waiting for the right venue before announcing a new date.
Bugie added that if Namboole becomes available, it will remain her preferred choice for the event.
The highly anticipated concert is expected to mark a major milestone in Gloria Bugie's career as she continues to establish herself among Uganda's rising music stars.
