Singer David Lutalo has explained his decision to stay away from the concert stage for several years, saying the break was necessary for both his well-being and his music brand.

Lutalo was once known for making concerts an annual tradition, regularly staging shows at the beginning of the year and attracting large crowds.

His most recent concert was held in 2024 at Kampala Serena Hotel, marking 15 years of releasing hit songs and entertaining his fans.

Since then, the singer has not staged another major concert, leaving many fans wondering when he will return to the stage.

Speaking to journalists, Lutalo explained that his absence from the concert circuit has been deliberate rather than a sign that he has stopped working.

According to the singer, taking a break has allowed him to rest and recharge while also creating anticipation among his fans.

“I gave fans a break because it is needed sometimes. It creates demand and also gives someone a rest. Just like any other job, you work and get to a point and take a rest,” he partly said.

Lutalo believes that taking time away from the stage can help an artiste avoid burnout while making fans appreciate their return even more.

His comments suggest that he is allowing the demand for his music to build before making his next major concert move.
