Ex-socialite Shanita Namuyimbwa, popularly known as Bad Black, has revealed that witchcraft was among the reasons she abandoned her music career shortly after launching it in 2016.
Bad Black ventured into music following her release from Luzira Prison, investing heavily in her attempt to establish herself as a musician. However, the career was short-lived after she says she suffered major financial losses.
Speaking in an interview with a local television station, Bad Black claimed that some people in the music industry bewitched her, making it difficult for her career to succeed.
“The witchcraft in the music industry is very terrible. I was bewitched, made losses and chose to quit music,” she said.
Bad Black further revealed that she spent more than Shs20 million working on her song “Madigadi”, hoping it would help establish her music career.
However, she says the investment did not generate the success she had expected, contributing to her decision to walk away from music.
Bad Black has since focused on other ventures and remained a prominent figure in Uganda’s entertainment and social media circles.
