Musician Eddy Kenzo has revealed that he was confident his hit song “Sitya Loss” would achieve international success even before he recorded it.

Speaking in an interview with a local YouTuber, Kenzo recalled telling producer Baur about the song’s potential to appeal to audiences beyond Uganda before they entered the studio.

The singer said he never considered language a barrier to the song’s international success, arguing that the sound and overall appeal of a song can help it cross borders.

“I knew Sitya Loss would go global even before recording it. I told producer Baur the song would hit internationally before setting foot in the studio. Language is not a barrier to making an international song. The sound makes it big,” he said.

“Sitya Loss” went on to become one of Kenzo’s biggest songs and gained international attention, helping raise his profile beyond Uganda.

Kenzo has also earned major international recognition during his career, including becoming the first Ugandan musician to win a BET Award and receiving a Grammy nomination.
