The Professional Standards Unit-PSU has summoned 4 police commanders from Masaka region to answer questions in relation to scandals that have been disturbing the institution under their jurisdiction especially during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Those in trouble include; Bosco Bakasahaba the Masaka District Police Commander, Elias Bayiruka the Masaka Region Criminal Investigations Officer, Owen Nahabwe the Officer in Charge of Operations and David Kanakulya the Officer in Charge of Nyendo Police Station.  

According to Muhammad Nsubuga, the Masaka Region Police Spokesperson, Bakasahaba handed over to Majid Wepukhulu, the Officer in Charge of Masaka Central Police Station as acting District Police Commander during a closed door meeting at the station on Sunday. 

By Monday morning, they were still waiting for Police Headquarters to deploy other officers to take up the office of Regional CID, Regional Operations in charge and Nyendo OC.

Nsubuga adds that the commanders are wanted in connection to the unfortunate incident that occurred at Masaka Central Police Station when Hussein Walugembe set himself in the traffic office after failing to recover his motorcycle.
