At least 1,425 people for breaking curfew guidelines last week. On Wednesday, President Yoweri Museveni maintained curfew at 6pm for motorcycles and 7pm for cars.

He also directed police to release all motorcycles previously impounded during curfew operations at no fee. 

Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga told a press briefing at Naguru on Monday, that 924 people were cautioned, 195 were released and 57 are pending Court while 249 were charged to court.
Police also impounded 837 motor vehicles, 590 were issued with EPS tickets, while 247 drivers were cautioned.

A total of 3,228 motorcycles were impounded. 2,327 were issued with EPS tickets, cautioned 626 while 275 still packed at different police stations across the country.

According to Enanga, the numbers are expected to increase this week, following the presidential directive, maintaining curfew. He added that police will carry out aggressive enforcement against curfew defaulters during this week and going forward
