The National Unity Platform- NUP party president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine, has asked the party supporters to vote Moses Attan Okia, the Forum for Democratic Change- FDC candidate for the Soroti East by-elections.

He joined Atan's last campaign rally in Moruapesur ward on Tuesday evening and campaigned together with the FDC leadership. He noted that the opposition parties are stronger together and will work hard to ensure that Attan reclaims his seat. The former presidential candidate urged all the opposition forces to unite to be able to realize an impact on the political struggle.

Kyagulanyi further told thousands of voters in Soroti who turned up for the rally that he is not surprised by what he described as the desperate attempts by the ruling party to bribe and silence the opposition.

He was referring to the defection of some NUP leaders in Teso to the ruling National Resistance Movement- NRM on Monday during President Yoweri Museveni’s campaign rallies for the party candidate, Herbert Edmund Ariko in Soroti.

He also told residents to distance themselves from leaders who have betrayed their trust.

The Soroti East MP by-elections has attracted three candidates including FDC's Moses Attan Okia, Herbert Edmund Ariko of NRM, and Pascal Amuriat of Uganda People's Congress. The polls shall take place tomorrow Thursday.

The by election followed a decision by the Court of Appeal which nullified Attan's victory over the boundary demarcation that wrongfully annexed Aloet and Opiyai wards into the Soroti West constituency.
