Entebbe International Airport handled 189,575 international passengers in February 2026, according to the latest traffic figures.

Of these, 90,007 were arrivals while 99,568 were departures, translating into an average of about 6,770 passengers per day.

This marks a sharp increase from 150,188 passengers recorded in January 2026, a rise of 39,387 passengers. The February 2026 figure also surpasses the same period last year by 30,072 passengers. In February 2025, the airport recorded 159,503 passengers, including 73,524 arrivals and 85,979 departures.

Cargo volumes also rise

Cargo traffic followed a similar trend, with total volumes reaching 4,498 metric tonnes in February 2026.

Exports accounted for 2,955 metric tonnes, while imports stood at 1,543 metric tonnes. This is an increase from 3,982 metric tonnes recorded in January 2026, and also higher than February 2025 figures, which stood at 3,157 metric tonnes of exports and 1,389 metric tonnes of imports.

Outlook for March

The steady rise in both passenger and cargo numbers points to continued growth in air transport activity through Entebbe.

However, operations could slow in March. Parts of Middle East airspace were closed from February 28, affecting several airlines operating out of Entebbe. With only a gradual reopening underway, passenger and cargo traffic is expected to dip in the coming weeks.
