Uganda’s oldest political party, Uganda peoples’ congress party UPC, is the first opposition party to support the newly appointed electoral commissioners.

The party spokesperson Michael Osinde Olachi made the revelation during the party weekly media briefing on Wednesday.

Orachi asked new commissioners led by the chairman Justice Mugenyi Byabakama to concentrate on the secret ballot lc1 elections as it has been in the previous elections.

The party mouth piece also dismissed claims that party president Hon. Jimmy Akena had been chased out of the lango elders' meeting.

Orachi also attacked Okello Lucima the publicist for UPC Otunnu faction in reference to media stories last Friday where he criticized IPOD and NINM for working with Akena faction.

Orachi insists that Lucima is not a member of UPC on grounds that he contested on go-forward ticket violating article 3 of the party constitution and that he has no authority over the party, though he has a right as Ugandan.
