 WHAT IS MOST WATCHED?

These are daily morning shows that are informative and touch different aspects of our society. But progressively shifts to more homemaker-oriented entertainment to reflect a predominantly female demographic with news briefs followed by a newspaper's review, follow up on a hot news item to hear the side of the story of person/s affected by the events in the story, focuses on health, human interest, lifestyle entertainment features, celebrity gossip making headlines on the. Today, we compare and contrast the presenters of the morning shows at NBS and NTV.

Brian Mulondo vs Dalton Kaweesa

Brian was a comedian before he turned a TV presenter. He can’t stand by his arguments. He imported his comic ways to the Morning At NTV and it makes the show sometimes interesting and lovely. If you are the type that hates political arguments in the morning, he is your person. Most people watch the show because of his interactive and story handling skills on the segment ‘Everyday life’. However, when he laughs, he sounds like an overripe mango sometimes having its skin peeled off aggressively with a screw cork instead of a knife.

On the other hand, Dalton Kaweesi of NBS TV is no comedian. He is much informed and really tries to make his moderation fair, however, his voice sucks. When he opens his mouth, it sounds like mid aged Patrick Star of Spongebob Square pants series.

Brian Mulondo 49%  Dalton Kaweesa 51%

Samson Kasumba vs Joel Senyonyi

Samson is a gentleman. He knows how to moderate shows with big stories. He is always on point and knows when and what to ask. He is also very interactive and drives the show to any direction he wants. The only worst side of Samson is that when he is talking it seems like he is just recalling what he had been revising the previous night.

Joel Senyonyi needs more time and training on how to moderate a show especially when he is hosting big personalities. He wants to be seen a clever boy and we can’t blame him because he is currently studying law. However, he is too serious for TV. He tries to use hard vocabularies and in the end, he gets lost on the way. Sometimes Joel gets lost in his own conversations. He forgets to ask questions and instead just start to mumble around with new words he crammed the previous night in the dictionary.

Samson Kasumba 55%  Joel Senyonyi 45%

Mable Kebirungi vs Mildred Tuhaise

Mable acts and behaves like an intern. Her mode of presentation is just pitiable and below the average. Her accent is like for a kindergarten teacher trying to make children laugh but then I realised it’s just her voice.

Mildred Tuhaise is very real. Her husky voice is very interesting. No argument, no debate… Mildred should stop copying Simon Njaala’s slanted debate antics, but again, I think with training, she can get there. You can do it Mildred, we believe in you.

Mable Kebirungi 30%  Mildred Tuhaise 70%

Simon Kasatye vs Simon Kaggwa Njala

When it comes to these two, they are both equally good. We don’t know who to give more marks. Simon is well-informed and well-travelled. His body movements on air are so good. He will bury any guest speaker that will try to show he or she is more intelligent than him. He makes this show enjoyable to watch. His bad side although outweighs the good one. Simon loves ranting over small issues. He turns his daily life frustrations to TV. Stop using TV to deliver your ROBERT MUGABE ROAD STALE STORIES. Viewers love listening to developmental and entertaining ideas.

On the other hand, Kaggwa is a god of sorts at NBS TV. Even Samson Kasumba attempted to out sit him at the station but instead he was ordered to go to the field to report the news. That’s how powerful Simon is to NBS TV. He as an eye for good guest speakers and his stories are so timely. He is never lost in a middle of a conversation. But on a bad note, he is too biased in general. When it comes to the current regime, he wants to make everybody believe we have been led by the worst government ever in the life of mankind. Though, we purely understand where his bias comes from. Simon stood as an MP for Busiro South and miserably lost. If Simon stopped making such silly mistakes, the show would be the most viewed in the country.

Simon Kasatye 55%  Simon Kaggwa Njala 45%

Morning Breeze NBS 53% Morning AT NTV 47%
